Can I come to Luxembourg for job interviews?𝗬𝗘𝗦 𝗜𝗧'𝗦 𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗕𝗟𝗘! You can travel to Luxembourg to attend job interviews with a tourist visa, but when you get a job offer you will need to go back to your home country to apply for your work permit, A work permit CANNOT be applied from Luxembourg.

What is the Process & Timeline to obtain a Work Permit?STEP 1 – TEMPORARY AUTHORIZATION APPLICATION A temporary authorization to stay (“Autorisation de Séjour Temporaire”) request will need to be filed with the Immigration Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The application needs to be submitted and favorably advised before the entry to the Luxembourg territory. The original approval should be sent to the applicant to carry with them on entry. STEP2 – TEMPORARY AUTHORIZATION TO STAY APPROVAL Timelines: EU Blue Card: approx. 6-8 weeks from submission (officially they can take up to 3 months) Other Work Permits: approx. 10-12 weeks from submission (officially they can take up to 4 months) Please note this is the standard processing time once submitted, it is under the discretion of the authority on their processing time. There is no expedited process. If granted, you will receive a Temporary Authorization to Stay (valid 90 days). The original approval should be sent to you to carry on entry. At the end of Step 2 you may enter Luxembourg (you have 90 days to do it) STEP 3 – DECLARATION OF ARRIVAL Timelines: • 1 day – Allow 2 hours. A declaration of arrival (“Déclaration d'Arrivée”) must be completed within three (3) working days of your arrival. The form will be obtained from the local authority office in Luxembourg City (Bierger Center - Commune). A copy of the declaration will be issued as a receipt. The receipt, together with the temporary authorization to stay, will act as a temporary residence permission up to the issuance of the residence permit. We will confirm the documents required for this step-in due course. You can start work after this step (Requires all preceding steps) STEP 4 – IMMIGRATION MEDICALS Timelines: Option 1: - Ligue Médico Légale (25 € / person) + Doctor (55 € / person) - Approximatively 1 month after arrival – 1,5 hours per appointment Option 2: - Private Laboratory (110 € / person) + Doctor (55€ / person - Approximatively 2 weeks after arrival – 1,5 hours per appointment You will have to undergo a medical examination with a general doctor established in Luxembourg and authorized to work as such, a house physician or paediatric specialist. Following this you will need a TB test and x-rays at the Ligue Médico-Sociale (www.ligue.lu) or at a private laboratory (more expensive but faster). The results will be sent to the Ministry of Health who will inform the Immigration Directorate if the medical conditions are fulfilled for you to obtain a residence permit for Luxembourg. We will confirm the documents required for this step in due course. STEP 5 – RESIDENCE PERMIT (TITRE DE SÉJOUR) APPLICATION Timelines: Step 1: Application must be done within maximum 90 days. Step 2: Once application is done, the process takes approx. 8-10 weeks. Residence permits must be applied for at the Immigration Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs government administrative office within 90 days of arrival in Luxembourg – A copy of a signed renting contract is part of the requirements. After 8-10 weeks, the Immigration Directorate will send an invitation letter for the biometrics to your new address, you need to book an appointment online. You must go to the appointment in person to the Immigration Directorate counters with the letter your received and your valid passport, for the biometric data (photograph and fingerprints) to be taken. This data will be incorporated in the residence permit. We will re-confirm the documents required for this step in due course. STEP 6 – RESIDENCE PERMIT (TITRE DE SÉJOUR) COLLECTION Timeline: • Approximatively 1 week Your personal presence will be required to collect the residence permit at the Immigration Directorate a few days after the biometric data appointment. The exact date will be communicated at the counter after the biometric data capture. Once the residence permit is obtained, you will need to return to your local municipality (“Administration Communale”) to receive a residence certificate (“Certificat de Résidence”). RED FLAGS: Please note that all documents shall be in English, French, or German (if not, a certified translation with an apostille or legal stamp by a sworn translator must be enclosed - We can assist if needed) No original documents will be returned to you once the application is treated (please provide copies or legalized true copies where needed) Where original documents are required, please send us scanned copies for our review. Once confirmed that documents are in good order, we will confirm where documents should be sent.

Can I relocate to Luxembourg without a Work Permit?𝗨𝗡𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗨𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗟𝗬 𝗡𝗢𝗧! You need first to find a job with a company that will sponsor you locally and who will provide you with a work contract. Once you have a job contract, you can then contact us to assist you with the work permit application. The application must be done from your country of origin, it cannot be done from Luxembourg.
